Bangalore-based Trip38 is a startup that wants to disrupt the way travelers find information post booking. The company has raised INR 6 crores from InterGlobe Technology Quotient, a strategic business unit of InterGlobe Enterprises, leaders in aviation, hospitality and travel related services and Singapore based venture capital firm Lantern Capital. As part of the deal, Mr. Anil Parashar, President and CEO, InterGlobe Technology Quotient , will join the board of the company. The funds will be used towards enhancing Trip38’s product features and expanding its user consumer base through effective marketing.Founded by Niranjan Gupta, Sesh, and Markish R, Trip38 is a travel management app providing itinerary management, day of travel info and context sensitive, local guide enabling seamless travel for consumers.
At present Trip38 app has been downloaded across 170 countries, with a little over 25,000 users as of now. India accounts to 40-50% of the app usage. “We truly believe the holy grail is in really letting the app help the traveler at all times by being one step ahead rather than the traveler keep looking for information. This investment will help us in further bettering Trip 38’s product features and making it more agile and user friendly”, said Niranjan.
Commenting on the funding, Mr. Anil Parashar, President and CEO, InterGlobe Technology Quotient , said, “Being a leader in aviation, hospitality and travel related services, we saw a huge market potential with Trip38’s global product; hence investing in Trip38 was natural business symbiosis to us. ”

• Facilities and Services details for more than 150 leading Airports in the world
• Information about Check-in, Baggage Allowance for more than 100 leading Airlines across the world
• All the embassies and consulates across the world for all the countries
• More than 30,000 cities in the world
The investor interest in travel space is picking up again and there are multiple areas within the travel space- Inspiration, Research, Plan, Transaction, and In Destination. Trip38 falls in the last stage of the funnel. More recently, travel marketplace iTraveller raised $1 million, TravelTriangle is one of the frontrunners which recently raised INR 10 crores from SAIF Partners and ofcourse there is ixigo which is evolving into a mobile marketplace for travel. There are a lot of trip planning tools being built as well.
