On demand B2B logistics startup Quickli has secured an undisclosed amount of seed fund from 500 Startups, Mato Peric, former Rocket Internet partner, and some HNIs. The company will use proceedings in building a team, technology, and go deep with a limited set of customers and geographies.
Quickli is more horizontally integrated and has custom solutions for various merchants for different categories. The company lets retailers have cost efficient delivery solution and scale benefits without the hassles of manpower management. It ensures deliveries on demand (DoD) for Indian businesses through an app push button.
Founded in April this year, the company claims to have more than 500 customers and a business volume of over 1000 deliveries everyday. Quickli had built a technology platform that enables most efficient routing based on the location based tracking of the fleet on street.
“We do not believe in one size fits all and understand that the needs of one merchant differ from the other. We have invested heavily on automating and executing the delivery process based on real time traffic conditions and data through predictive analytics — rather than relying on obsolete static routing guides that reduce the efficiency and increase the delivery times," said Sudhanshu Aggarwal, Co‐ founder of Quickli.
Mato Peric, former Rocket Internet partner and investor, said, “The founders have a diverse expertise of building and scaling companies in the past. They are fairly ahead of the curve than the competitors in terms of technology and business strategy and most importantly the understanding of the complexity of the problem that they are trying to solve, which gives us the confidence in the vision of the company."
On the lines of their consumer facing peers, on-demand B2B logistics startups are also attracting significant interest of VCs and angels. With capital bolster from investors, these startups are scaling fast as restaurants, food joints, and small merchants don’t have logistics capabilities to ensure deliveries at consumers’ doorsteps.
Bengaluru-based Swiggy had snapped up 18.5 million from NVP, Accel, and SAIF Partners across two rounds while Roadrunnr raised $11 million Series A round from Sequoia Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, and Blume Ventures. Mumbai-based Grab raised $1 million Series A round and also attracted strategic investment from Zomato.
Shadowfax also raised back to back rounds with 35 days. After securing seed capital from Snapdeal’s founder, it had raised $8.5 million Series A round from Eight Roads venture. Quickli competes with aforementioned startups, including YHungry among a few others.
B2B logistics seems to be very exciting segment as retailers struggle with delivery part. VCs have shown unprecedented appetite for the segment and gradually it’s also ushering towards consolidation. Stay tuned for more updates from this segment.
