Calling bloggers for second Creative Writing Workshop on Feb 27
After an exciting round of the first edition of YourStory Creative Writing Workshop last month, we are happy to announce the second workshop on February 27, 2016.
This is yet another incredible opportunity to arm yourself with the tools of storytelling. Learn to tell your story from some of the best literary writers in town. This workshop will focus purely on non-fiction writing, including a session on how to increase the online reach of your writing.
So if you are a blogger or have a job writing content for your startup or organization, then this workshop is for you.
The day-long workshop will be a combination of practical and interactive sessions by different experts, including author Srinath Perur. Srinath is an independent writer based in Bengaluru. His writing—mostly about books, science and travel—can be found in Outlook Traveller, GEO, Fountain Ink, Brainwave, and Open Magazine, among other publications. He is the author of If it’s Monday it must be Madurai.
The other sessions include:
'Writing creatively and thinking out of box' by Reema Moudgil, Editor and Co-founder of Unboxed Writers, the author of Perfect Eight, the editor of Chicken Soup for the Soul-Indian Women, a translator who recently interpreted Dominican poet Josefina Baez’s book Comrade Bliss Ain’t Playing in Hindi, an RJ with Timbre Media and an artist who has exhibited her work in India and the US and is now retailing some of her art at http://paintcollar.com/reema.
'Tailoring your content for online media...tips and tricks' by Arvindh Sundararajan, who is an award-winning content marketer with a strong foundation in digital marketing and technology. He runs a popular podcast at www.digipodcast.com, a personal blog at www.callmegundu.com and a community blog at www.twominutereads.com.
YourStory, we believe everyone has a story to tell. You could be an entrepreneur who wants to tell your story to investors as briefly and with impact as possible. You could be a student looking to apply to colleges abroad and need to tell your story in a long form essay. You could be a homemaker and want to start your own blog to share the treasure trove of stories you have accumulated about people around you. You could be hopelessly in love and want to bare your soul in love letters to your sweet heart. Or you just want to become a published author. Thus, it helps to know how to write creatively.
The first workshop on January 30, 2016, was led by authors Shinie Antony, Andaleeb Wajid, Zac O’ Yeah, and Sourav Roy.
