Whether you are readying yourself for a startup interview, board meeting in an MNC, or for investor’s pitch, spending just five minutes on “self-talk” can make you feel drastically better, and that’s exactly what you need in order to come across as a confident, energetic, and responsible presenter at any meeting.

When you are in need of a pep talk, this is a clear sign that your mind is in a state of negativity. In such a case, it can be difficult for anyone to see the bright side of the situation. Instead of being worried about the consequences of the meeting, it is best to focus on how you can make it better. Make a list of your talents, passions, interests, and strengths. Maintain a journal of your thoughts and feelings. Make sure that you pen down everything that’s making you anxious about the meeting. Whatever makes you happy and especially something that you have been avoiding due to weight issues or other health concerns. A bit of your favourite food can make all the difference in managing your mood right before the meeting. While you are binge eating, be sure to tell yourself how you deserve this exotic treat and how it is going to make you look cheerful. After all, entering a room with a happy face is half the battle won.
Meetings are important — a good one can prove to be a breakthrough in anyone’s life. Feeling anxiety and restlessness is normal, but giving negative feelings the power to flourish can take away the only opportunity you have.
