[Partner Post] Business conclaves in XIMB end on a high note
With the end of "Ashwamedh 2016" on 28th August 2016, the curtains came down on the business conclaves at XIMB, which saw a grand beginning with the commencement of "Finomics 2016", the Annual Business Conclave organized by X-FIN, the Finance Association of XIMB, XUB on 6th of August 2016. The event aimed at addressing the startup funding and valuation bubble.The speakers for the event were Mr. Soundararajan V, Project Head at Bombay Stock Exchange and Mr. Chittaranjan Mohanty, Executive Director at JP Morgan Chase, among others.
The next conclave was "Mercatique 2016" organized by MAXIM, the Marketing Association of XIMB, XUB followed by the media conclave "Communique 2016" organized by IlluminatiX, the Media PR cell of XIMB, XUB on 7th of August 2016. The topic of discussion for "Mercatique2016" was “Driving Customer Loyalty in Digital Age” where eminent speakers like Mr. Sujoy Chakrabarti, Vice President - TATA Sky Ltd and Mr. Bidyut Nath, Head - Customer Loyalty & Analytics - Titan Industries shared their views. The theme of “Communique 2016” was “Ethics in Media”. Eminent speakers for this event were Mr.Vishnu Som, Editor & Principal Anchor, NDTV and Mr. A.S. Panneerselvan, Reader’s Editor, The Hindu among others.
The next conclave was "Kshitij 2016", the National Level HR Summit organized by XIMAHR, the HR association of XUB, which was held on 20th August 2016. It aimed at addressing the innovative practices in the field of human resource management and highlighting its significance to the firm’s growth and competitiveness. The speakers for the event included industry stalwarts like Mr. Satyadeep Mishra, Head of HR, Digital Services, Reliance Jio and Mr. Suresh Pugalenthi, Head, Organisation Development, HPCL. The second half of the event included the final round of the Pan-India Best Summer Internship Competition of students of Tier-I and Tier-II B-schools organized by XIMAHR in association with NHRDN, Bhubaneshwar.
“Abhivyakti 2016” the conclave by RMAX, the Rural Manager’s Association of Xavier School of Rural Management took place on the 21st of August 2016. The conclave laid emphasis on how third parties can improve the CSR processes. The speakers for this event included Mr. Sourav Banerjee, Country Director of India, Room to Read and Mr Bibhuti Pradhan, Chief Manager (CSR & Sustainability Areas), Indian Oil Corporation Limited, among others. The theme for the second session was “Tapping opportunities at the bottom of the pyramid". The speakers for this session were Ms Neelima Burra, Chief Marketing Officer / Business Head - Organised Retail /Country Head - Olive Oil, Cargill India; Mr. Pratyush Kumar Panda, CSR Head, ACC Limited and a few other eminent speakers.
Next up were "Envision 2016" organized by X-SYS, the Systems Association of XIMB, XUB and "Stratonomics 2016", the Annual Business Conclave organized by CONSTRAT, the Consulting and Strategy Association of XIMB, XUB, that took place on 27th of August. This was followed by “Ashwamedh 2016" organized by X-ops, the Operations Committee of XIMB, XUB, which took place on 28th of August, marking the end of the conclave season. The theme of these conclaves was "Disruptive Innovation". The speakers for "Envision 2016" were Mr. Debasis Bal, Senior Director, Data Science, Fidelity Investments and Mr. Sashikant Mohanty, Regional Practice Head, Asia Pacific & Japan, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, among others. The speakers for "Stratonomics 2016" included prolific speakers like Mr. Madan Mohapatra, Head of Customer Strategy, Future Group and Mr. Suhel Bidani, Senior Program officer, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The speakers for "Ashwamedh 2016" were Mr. Manoranjan Ram, Associate Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Paul Wurth India Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Sujata Das, Medical Director, Drushti Daan Eye Bank, L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), and other eminent speakers. They gave their perspectives on disruptive innovation in their respective fields.
With this, came an end to the conclave season in XIMB, XUB. All these conclaves were extremely insightful and informative for all the students and proved to be a great success.
