[PhotoSparks] Words, colour, music: inside the Jaipur LitFest, ‘the most fabulous literary love-fest on the planet’
PhotoSparks is a weekly feature from YourStory, with photographs that celebrate the spirit of creativity and innovation. In this photo essay, we showcase the brilliant ‘festival of festivals’ at the 10th edition of the annual Jaipur Literature Festival!
In the earlier 115 posts, we brought you a wide range of creative photographs from an art fair, world music festival, painting fair, telecom expo, art museum, mobile showcase, math museum, social hackathon, bookstore, co-working space, sensorium, international design week, flower show, outdoor ads, startup roadshow, computer museum, startup T-shirts, business cards, art therapy, startup festival, Diwali rangoli, Vesak, jazz festival, modern art gallery, ecopreneurs, painter-poets, health activists, eNGOs and digital innovators.
The annual Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) held every January in Rajasthan is widely regarded as one of India’s best literary events, and indeed one of the world’s largest free events of its kind. It’s not just the established and emerging authors that are a popular draw, but also the celebration of art and music that have become major attractions.
In a subsequent article, we will showcase some of the key inspiring quotes from the authors at JLF 2017. In this photo showcase, we feature the creative installations, designs, and events at the litfest, and some of the outstanding artistes at the night-time music showcase: Rajasthan Josh, Soulmate, LisaHannigan, Aga Khan All Stars, and Bengaluru’s own Raghu Dixit Project.
We thank all the organisers, speakers, publishers, aspiring writers, artists, designers, musicians and volunteers at JLF, and look forward to the 11th edition of the festival already!
