Reliance Jio unveils Prime plans. Here’s all you need to know
Having taken the markets by storm with its low tariff rates and offers last year, Reliance Jio is now gearing up for the end of the ‘Jio Happy New Year Offer’ this March 31. Going forward, Reliance Jio users will have to pay for all the services provided by the telecom brand except for voice calls. After clocking its record-breaking 100 million users in 170 days of its launch, on Wednesday Reliance Jio introduced the ‘Jio Prime Subscription’ services under which customers are allowed to choose low-cost plans if they wish to continue their services.
Under the new service, customers are asked to pay Rs 99, which allows them a monthly recharge pack to lower their cost of 4G data, among other Reliance Jio services.
The Jio Prime Membership programme was launched by Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani as a token of gratitude to its existing users. The existing 100 million-plus Jio subscribers can avail of the special Jio Prime Membership programme, which comes with several special benefits.
- Jio Prime members will be able to enjoy unlimited benefits of the existing Jio Happy New Year Offer for another year or till March 31, 2018, for a nominal, one-time enrollment fee of just Rs 99 and a rock-bottom introductory price of only Rs 303 per month or effectively at just Rs 10 per day.
- The programme will enable Jio Prime members to enjoy the full bouquet of Jio’s applications absolutely free till March 31, 2018. This translates to an additional benefit worth over Rs 10,000 for Jio Prime members.
The telecom brand has opened up two options for its customers. For subscribers enrolling before March 3, the ‘Jio Happy New Year’ benefits are valid till March 31. Customers enrolling after March 4 have to apply for the Rs 99 Jio Prime subscription if they have to enjoy the unlimited benefits before March 31, 2017.

The new plans are listed on the official website and are classified for both postpaid and prepaid customers, along with the other usual plans.
Facilitated by a revolutionary on-boarding process through an Aadhaar-based eKYC solution, customers will also enjoy a completely digital recharge and billing experience to provide further convenience and ease of usage.
