Ola's COO Vishal Kaul resigns, Pallav Singh to take over as interim COOSindhu Kashyaap
Ola's Chief Operating Officer Vishal Kaul has resigned from the company, and Senior Vice President Pallav Singh will take over from him in the interim, a spokesperson from the Bengaluru based ride-hailing company said.
Vishal's stint at Ola has been a little over a year. After his stint at PepsiCo, Vishal joined Ola succeeding then COO Pranay Jivrajika, who also is a founding member at Ola. Vishal had joined Ola with a focus on strengthening the company's position in the Indian market.
Vishal's isn't one of the first exits for Ola. In February last year, CFO Rajiv Bansal had resigned and Pallav had taken over his role in the interim.
This year has been busy for Ola. The company has turned its sights on Electric Vehicles, launched operations in Australia, and also set up a Safety Council.
It also acquired Ridlr, an end-to-end ticketing and commuting app for public transport. Post the acquisition, the Ridlr app will be integrated into Ola's existing app. Ridlr’s team of 64 will join and integrate with Ola's team and Founder Brijraj Vaghani will continue to lead its operations within Ola. Other terms of the deal were undisclosed.
The ride-hailing company at the end of last year, had acquired FoodPanda, and pumped in $200 million into the company.
While Pallav will head operations in the interim, it will be interesting to see who Ola gets as its new COO.
