Unicorn Automation Anywhere to double India headcount
The RPA firm, which had raised $250 million in Series A funding in July this year, is looking to expand its market reach within India.
Unicorn Automation Anywhere, the robotic process automation (RPA) company founded in India and now headquartered in the US, plans to double its India workforce soon as it looks to tap into the talent pool and also expand its reach within the India market.
The company currently has presence in three locations – Baroda, Bengaluru and Mumbai with a total headcount of around 470.
Speaking to YourStory, Ankur Kothari, Co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer, Automation Anywhere, said, “There is a huge talent pool in the country waiting to be tapped.”
Headquartered in San Jose, California, Automation Anywhere has around 1,000 people on its rolls globally and plans to take this number to 3,000 by end of 2019.
The company, which has its suite of bot products, has also customers in the Indian market ranging from tech MNCs, large corporates and IT service providers.
Automation Anywhere also opened its bot store marketplace in March 2018 consisting of hundreds of pre-built bots for more commonly used business processes, delivering drag-n-drop ease and immediacy with very little development required.
Automation Anywhere raised $250 million in funding in July this year at a valuation of $1.8 billion. The company claimed it was one of the largest ever fundraise at the Series A level. The funding round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Goldman Sachs Growth Equity with participation from General Atlantic and World Innovation Lab (WiL). The funds raised will be used towards its global expansion which include newer offices, R&D development and mergers & acquisition (M&A).
According to the firm, the total revenue continues to grow over 100 percent annually while the existing customer revenue grew more than 150 percent year-over-year ended March 2018.
The company has also launched Automation Anywhere University, which teaches RPA courses globally and has partnerships with around 68 universities and colleges. In India, it has similar partnerships with around 35 educational institutions.
