LinkedIn Salary provides insights on top paying locations and companies, with data of salaries based on educational qualifications and industries.

LinkedIn announced the launch of LinkedIn Salary in India, a resource that can help create salary transparency in the jobs market.

With this tool, users will be able to gather insights on bonus and equity data for specific job titles, compensation structures along with the factors that impact pay such experience, industry, company size, location and education level.

In a statement, the company claims that it draws on data from the network’s over 53 million members in India, to provide an in-depth view of salaries across professions and industries.

“In India’s competitive jobs market, LinkedIn Salary will help create salary transparency and empower our members with reliable data. This will help professionals, including students and career starters, negotiate better salaries and optimise their earning potential. As the tool gathers momentum in India, it will offer more actionable insights to our members,” said Ajay Datta, Head of Product-India, LinkedIn.

The data also indicate that the highest paid industries of India are the hardware and networking industries, followed by software and IT services, and consumer goods.

Based on current member submissions, the analysis indicated that some of the highest paying titles in the country today are Director of Engineering, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director, Vice President Sales and Senior Program Manager.

Currently, LinkedIn has more than 590 million members globally and has several offices around the world.
