41 Indian brands to be recognised at YourStory's Brands of India Awards, 2019
Scheduled to be held on February 27 in New Delhi, YourStory’s Brands of India Awards, 2019, in association with the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), is a nationwide campaign to recognise and promote MSMEs and innovative companies that are making in India.
YourStory’s Brands of India Awards, 2019, in association with the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), will honour 41 home-grown brands that are making India proud.
Scheduled to be held on February 27 in New Delhi, the Brands of India Awards is a nationwide campaign to recognise and promote MSMEs and breakthrough companies that are making in India. These are home-grown brands that have transformed themselves through business and technology innovations and are poised to become billion dollar companies.
In an overwhelming response, YourStory received 2,500 plus applications from across the country in various categories, including manufacturing, retail, agri business, advertising, consumer brands, auto ancillary, education, healthcare, F&B, services, social enterprise, and technology business among others.
The winners will be felicitated at an elite gathering comprising Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh; Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Dr Arun Kumar Panda; AS & DC, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Ram Mohan Mishra; and other dignitaries.
There will also be an interesting lineup of industry experts, MSMEs, government representatives, and various stakeholders who will deliberate upon the challenges and issues of the sector.
Brands of India Awards 2019
It was heartening to find applications from far-flung regions of the country, including Sikkim, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Surat, Salem, and Madurai among other places.
Keeping with the times and making use of technology, there were businesses that were innovating their products to cater to the new-age customers.
Among the applicants were companies that are working on renewable energy solutions and those producing products that are eco-friendly and sustainable, including smoke-and-odour-free crematoriums.
It was interesting to see companies innovate in their product range. For example, there was a ceiling fan manufacturing business that is producing a smart fan rod as an anti-suicide measure. There was another company that is solving the problem of disposing off sanitary napkins in an eco-friendly manner.
The list in the manufacturing category was the longest and included companies devoted to manufacturing medical equipment, aero and space components, electric and heavy machinery to those manufacturing pens, eco-pencils, playground and gym equipment, mobile phones, furniture, and textiles.
The food and beverage category list was also a long one and worth salivating over.
The final list of 41 home-grown brands has been selected through a stringent process keeping in mind the company’s USP, its impact on customers, domain expertise, and market leadership.
YourStory will announce the names of the winners on February 27 after the award ceremony.
