[Weekly funding roundup Nov 15-21] VC inflow continues to remain lacklustre
The total VC funding for the third week of November stood at $147 million across 17 deals.
Venture capital (VC) funding into Indian startups has remained lacklustre for November, as the deal inflow remained weak, coupled with the absence of large-value transactions.
The total VC funding for the third week of November stood at $147 million across 17 deals. In contrast, the previous week saw $170 million in funding.

Surprisingly, this week saw debt VC funding rising, which generally has not been the case for the ecosystem. Although this is not a sign of any long-term trend, it is most probably a one-off thing.
Now, weekly VC inflow into Indian startups has moved into the range of $200 million and below. The first three weeks of November saw funding hovering around the $150 million range.

This can be attributed to two reasons. First, with the year coming to an end, there is a considerable slowdown in activity. Second, much of the investor attention is towards AI startups, where the Indian startup ecosystem is yet to find a strong foothold.
Overall, it has been a quiet period for the startup ecosystem, and the overall funding amount raised for the year may reach the same level as 2024, i.e., $13.2 billion.
