Delhivery completes successful testing of its autonomous logistics drone in Deoria
Delhivery said the drone is part of a prototype fleet designed for challenging terrain, capable of carrying up to 5 kg over 60–90 km per charge. A higher-capacity 20 kg model is under development.
, an integrated logistics services provider, today announced that it has carried out a successful trial of its autonomous VTOL (Vertical Take-off and Landing) logistics drone in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, as part of efforts to assess the use of aerial delivery in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
The demonstration, conducted by Delhivery Robotics India Pvt. Ltd., featured a drone transporting medicines over a pre-set 12 km route. The trip, which typically takes around 40 minutes by road, was completed autonomously in about 12 minutes. The test was witnessed by Shri Shashank Mani, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Deoria.

The company noted that such deployments could also generate new roles in piloting, maintenance, and ground operations.
The test forms part of ongoing industry efforts to evaluate drone-based logistics as an additional mode of delivery, particularly for remote regions.
