Meta taps Aman Jain to lead public policy in India
Aman Jain comes with over two decades of experience in public policy and business strategy, spanning major technology companies, government roles, and multilateral organisations, including at Google and Amazon.
Meta has appointed Aman Jain as its new Head of Public Policy for India, placing him in charge of the company’s policy strategy and government engagements in one of its most important global markets.
Jain will take up the role early next year and will report to Simon Milner, Vice President of Policy for Asia-Pacific. He will also be a part of Meta’s India leadership team.
Jain comes with more than two decades of experience in public policy and business strategy, spanning major technology companies, government roles and multilateral organisations.
At Google India, he held several senior positions, including Country Head for Government Affairs and Public Policy, where he oversaw regulatory and policy engagement across the company’s portfolio.
He later moved to Amazon, serving most recently as Director of Public Policy, where he led policy work across marketplace operations, competition issues and emerging technology, managing some of the company’s most sensitive regulatory interfaces in India. He has also worked as an advisor to the Indian government’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
India remains a key market for Meta, with the company positioning itself at the centre of the country’s rapid digital expansion. As adoption of AI, emerging technologies, and the creator economy accelerates, Meta is attempting to influence how the policy landscape evolves.
The company wants to help shape a more inclusive and trusted internet ecosystem, and strengthen its partnerships with regulators at a time when government scrutiny of large tech platforms continues to intensify.
Milner said Jain’s mix of public policy and technology experience made him well-suited to the role. “His extensive experience will help Meta be an even more effective partner to regulators and industry stakeholders in developing an enabling policy environment,” he said, adding that Jain would also be a strong addition to the company’s wider Asia-Pacific policy leadership team.
