Bharat Forge wins Rs 300 Cr defence drone contracts from IAF
Bharat Forge has won Rs 300 crore in contracts to deliver indigenous drone platforms—Omega One, Omega Nine, Bayonet, and Cleaver—to the Indian Army and Navy, marking a significant milestone in India's defence self-reliance efforts.
Bharat Forge's aerospace division has won contracts worth approximately Rs 300 crore to supply indigenous drones to the Indian Army and Navy, the company announced on Friday, January 16.
The contracts cover a range of unmanned systems including Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and loitering munitions.
The drone platforms--Omega One, Omega Nine, Bayonet, and Cleaver, are designed to meet urgent operational requirements across diverse terrains and mission profiles.
According to the company, its unmanned vehicle portfolio is rapidly evolving with advanced autonomy, artificial intelligence (AI), and data-driven decision-making capabilities. These enhancements improve mission endurance, precision, survivability, and adaptability in contested operational environments.
"This dual achievement, securing EP-VI contracts and showcasing Omega One on Army Day, reaffirms BFL's commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat," said Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director at Bharat Forge Ltd.
The company's UAV Omega One was displayed onboard an upgraded BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle during the Army Day Parade in Jaipur earlier this month, marking a significant validation of Bharat Forge's capabilities before India's defence leadership.
The inductions underscore the company's focus on delivering indigenous solutions aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. The programmes leverage increased domestic production capacity to ensure rapid delivery while maintaining quality, reliability, and scalability.
