Decode Age sells gut microbiome tests and supplements built around the biology of ageing
The Bengaluru-based company runs a sequencing laboratory that maps the gut microbiome and sells a range of supplements aimed at pathways associated with ageing.
Ageing can be measured as a biological process rather than counted in years. Researchers track markers in blood, cells and the gut microbiome, then test whether those markers can be shifted. Companies sell tests and supplements built on the same measurements, which is where the science meets a consumer market.
was registered in Bengaluru in August 2021 by Parth Amin, Darshit Patel and Rakesh Somani, and launched its first products that November. The founders are from Surat. They initially invested about ₹1 crore by themselves in the beginning. An early round of about $150,000 paid for a genomics laboratory and the first gut microbiome test.
The company works across three areas: testing, research, and a consumer product range built on the results. CEO Amin has said the goal is to help Indians avoid chronic illness for as long as they can, and to extend average lifespans that way.
The laboratory and the product shelf
The testing side runs on whole-genome sequencing of the gut microbiome, which the company says identifies bacteria along with viruses, archaea and fungi. Around that sit metagenomics and biomarker work, aimed at giving clinicians, researchers and individuals a reading of biological rather than chronological age.
Most of the revenue comes from the consumer range. Decode Age sells supplements including NMN, trans-resveratrol, spermidine and calcium alpha-ketoglutarate, marketed against pathways such as cellular energy, metabolic balance and inflammation. The NMN uses Uthever, a branded ingredient the company licenses from a foreign supplier rather than one it makes itself.
The underlying science is genuinely active but not settled. Compounds of this kind have shown effects in laboratory and animal studies, and evidence that they extend healthy human lifespan has not been established. Claims that the products are clinically proven are the company's own, and readers considering them should treat them as such.
In April 2024, Decode Age entered a partnership with the Longevity India Initiative at the Indian Institute of Science, which supports large-scale research into ageing. The company also works with international longevity programmes and says it aligns its data collection with those standards. It has said it is preparing to run research outside India as well.
Where the revenue comes from, and what the money is for
Reported figures put revenue at Rs 3.07 crores in FY23, rising to Rs 11.9 crores for FY24. Supplements account for roughly 93% of that, at margins reported close to 70%. The company appeared on Shark Tank India in 2024, and has credited the appearance, along with rising supplement demand, with the jump in revenue.
In December 2025, Decode Age announced ₹14.48 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Dr Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, Chairman and Managing Director of Granules India, a pharmaceutical manufacturer with four decades in the industry.
The company has said the money will go towards expanding biomarker discovery, deepening its multi-omics and microbiome research pipeline, and upgrading laboratory and analytical infrastructure. It is also hiring across scientific and product teams and preparing to take its research outside India.
On the product side, it has said it plans further tests, including oral and vaginal microbiome testing, and new formulations directed at inflammation and cognitive health. It has also opened a first offline store, where customers can look at the products before buying.
