Aum Ventures raises Rs 225 Cr first close for new deeptech fund
Aum Ventures has raised Rs 225 crore in the first close of a new Rs 750 crore fund aimed at backing Indian deeptech startups, adding more private capital to sectors that are also receiving growing policy support. The India Innovation Fund II will target pre-seed and seed-stage companies in spacetech, semiconductors, defence-tech, AI, robotics, energy transition, and advanced manufacturing.

Google has launched the Google for Startups Sprint, powered by Lightspeed, a one-day workshop aimed at Seed to Series B founders and CTOs in the consumer technology and fintech sectors. The programme is designed to help startups move from AI experimentation towards practical and scalable deployment. The initiative combines Google’s engineering expertise with Lightspeed’s experience of backing consumer technology and fintech companies in India. IBM launch AI Lab with high-performance computing facility
Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Bengaluru has inaugurated the IBM–MIT AI Lab – MAHE Intelligence GPU (MIG) at its Bengaluru campus in collaboration with IBM. The facility houses a high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure aimed at democratising access to advanced artificial intelligence resources.
The lab will provide computing resources, research infrastructure and digital skilling opportunities to students, researchers and institutions across India. It will support research in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, computer vision, natural language processing, cybersecurity, healthcare, intelligent systems and data analytics. The facility can simultaneously support 30 high-performance computing workloads. The lab will also serve as a platform for industry-sponsored projects, faculty development, hackathons, internships, startup incubation and collaborative technology development.
Escape Plan partners with Snitch to enter travel category
Travel platform Escape Plan has partnered with fashion and lifestyle brand Snitch, making it the third brand to join its platform after HRX and Rare Rabbit. The partnership is aimed at helping consumer brands expand into the travel category through Escape Plan’s end-to-end capabilities covering product development, sourcing, manufacturing and distribution.
Snitch, which has more than 115 stores across India, reported 80% year-on-year revenue growth to ₹900 crore in FY26. The company is now looking to extend its consumer appeal into adjacent lifestyle categories, with travel identified as a natural next step. Saafe Tech launches credit assessment report for lenders
Technology service provider Saafe Tech has introduced its Credit Assessment Report (CAR), a unified credit decisioning solution designed to help lenders make more informed and efficient lending decisions. The platform uses consent-based financial information from the Account Aggregator ecosystem and other approved financial data sources to create a unified borrower profile.
CAR triangulates and cross-validates financial datasets to identify relationships and risk indicators that may not be visible when individual datasets are assessed separately. Depending on the applicant’s credit profile, the report evaluates up to 15 financial and behavioural risk indicators, including repayment capacity, cash-flow patterns, existing obligations and overall financial health. Saafe said the report can generate an assessment in less than 60 seconds and can be configured to match individual lenders’ underwriting policies and rule engines.
SUSE highlights digital sovereignty and AI readiness at Mumbai summit
Enterprise open-source software company SUSE has launched its flagship SUSE Summit Mumbai 2026 under the theme “Shape Your Resilient Future”. At the event, the company unveiled its roadmap for helping Indian enterprises navigate digital transformation, evolving national data policies and increasing AI workloads. According to SUSE’s Navigating Digital Resilience 2026 report, 62% of respondents in India identify digital sovereignty as a strategic priority and are actively investing in it, compared with 52% globally. The report also found that 90% of Indian IT leaders are prepared to increase AI budgets. However, organisations continue to face an execution gap between AI ambitions and deployment of secure and sovereign technology foundations. SUSE said it is supporting India’s digital infrastructure through open infrastructure for IndiaAI Mission compute capabilities and India Stack.

Under the collaboration, Shankara Cancer Hospital has upgraded its molecular diagnostics laboratory with a high-throughput NGS platform and adopted 4baseCare’s TarGT Indiegene comprehensive genomic profiling assay.
The test analyses more than 1,200 cancer-associated genes using integrated DNA and RNA sequencing to identify clinically actionable biomarkers. The findings are intended to help oncologists make more informed and personalised treatment decisions. A key focus of the partnership is improving affordability and access to genomic testing. TarGT Indiegene will be offered at a subsidised cost, potentially allowing more cancer patients to access precision oncology services.
Fynd integrates fashion quick-commerce platform ZILO
AI-native retail technology company Fynd, backed by Reliance Retail Ventures, has partnered with fashion quick-commerce platform ZILO, bringing ZILO onto Fynd as a sales channel. Through the integration, fashion and lifestyle brands using Fynd can connect their product catalogues and inventory with ZILO and manage incoming orders through their existing Fynd setup. ZILO currently offers curated fashion from more than 200 brands, along with 60-minute delivery, home trials and instant returns across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai.
The partnership is designed to help brands enter the growing on-demand fashion segment without building a separate technology workflow. Product information, inventory and ZILO orders can remain connected with brands’ broader commerce operations. Vertiv to train 1,500 engineering students in data centre skills
Digital infrastructure company Vertiv is supporting the expansion of IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation’s data centre skilling initiative into Maharashtra through its corporate social responsibility programme. IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has also signed an MoU with Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University.
Vertiv has partnered with IIT Mumbai, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation and IIT (BHU) to provide engineering students with practical skills in data centre operations and AI-ready infrastructure. In 2026, Vertiv will provide free skill development training to 1,500 engineering students covering data centre operations and digital infrastructure management. RTMSSU will use its pre-incubation centre network across 60 colleges in Maharashtra to expand the programme.
