Dr. Rajalaxmi Walavalkar is the Medical Director, Senior Gynaecologist and highly skilled IVF specialist at Cocoon Fertility, one of India's leading chains of IVF centres catering to infertility and related conditions. Dr. Rajalaxmi has an extensive experience in reproductive medicine and has trained in India and later in the UK. Her career of academic distinction spans over 21 years.
She obtained the internationally respected MRCOG and the Consultant Certification of Training (CCT) from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), London. She has a Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Fellowship from Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London and is awarded the coveted, Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Advanced Training Skills Module of the RCOG, UK. Post her CCT, she did an IVF Research Fellowship at the Homerton University Hospital, London.
She was invited as a speaker and delivered talks at numerous regional, national and international conferences. She also holds the honour of being the Founder Chair of the RCOG-India Liaison group of the RCOG, UK and has previously served on the RCOG Congress Committee and the India Steering Group of the college, where she was involved with academic exchange between the two countries. She has many scientific papers and post graduate book chapters to her credit. She was recently awarded the Leading IVF Consultant award at Times Power Women 2018 awards.
Apart from her academic excellence, she has been involved with various charities and has done voluntary work at free health check-up camps in rural Maharashtra and was also involved with the CALMED program of International Rotary aimed towards reducing maternal mortality in India.
Currently she is dedicated to provide fertility services at Cocoon Fertility. Her special interests are previous failed IVF, male factor infertility and recurrent miscarriages.
