Huracan Tecnica: Lamborghini brings a new V10- powered supercar to India
Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica in India is a worthy rival to the upcoming McLaren 720S and the recently launched Porsche GT3 RS.
Lamborghini has added a new race machine to the Huracan range in India. Priced at Rs 4.04 crore (ex-showroom), Huracan Tecnica sits in between the standard Huracan EVO and the track-focused Huracan STO in the brand’s India lineup.
The Italian supercar marque claims that this latest entrant is the most versatile and driver-centric model in the Huracan family and is meant for both roads as well as race tracks. In July last year, the company launched Huracan STO in the country at Rs 4.99 crore (ex-showroom).
Exterior styling
While the overall exterior design is familiar to the Huracan range, the Tecnica gets its set of distinctive highlights, lending it a unique identity. The car borrows design cues from the Sian hybrid hypercar. Up front, it gets an angular bodywork finished in black, comprising a carbon fibre hood, a new bumper with larger air curtains and redesigned headlamps with Y-shaped LED elements.
Its side profile is dominated by 20-inch centre-lock alloy wheels providing the car with a prominent stance. At the rear, it features Y-shaped LED taillights, similar to its headlights. Sporty appeal at the rear is amplified by a more pronounced diffuser housing hexagonal dual-tip exhausts and a fixed rear spoiler that offers 35% more downforce.
While the overall design is largely similar to the more hardcore Huracan STO, the Tecnica misses out on an extensive aerodynamics package and a clamshell bodywork seen in the former. The Kerb weight of 1,379 kg also helps its sports car credentials.
Interior styling & features
Inside the cabin, Tecnica is similar to other Huracan models– a blacked-out theme, a two-seat layout and an Alcantara finish on the dashboard and door trim. Some of the primary highlights include a digital driver’s instrument panel, a large touchscreen infotainment display and connectivity functions including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa.
Technica also benefits from Lamborghini Connect which provides connected car services like real-time traffic information, car finder, vehicle status report, geofencing alert, over-the-air software updates and more. Other features include a flat-bottomed steering wheel, cruise control, paddle shifters and automatic climate control.
Powertrain specs & performance
Huracan Tecnica derives its energy from a 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine that dishes out 640 bhp and 565 Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Drivers get to choose from three drive modes namely— Strada, Sport, and Corsa— which alter engine and steering response.
Speaking of performance, Technica has a claimed 0-100 kmph acceleration time of a meagre 3.2 seconds while it can breach the 200 kmph mark from a standstill in 9.1 seconds. It can clock at a top speed of 325 kmph. Huracan Tecnica also benefits from carbon ceramic brakes, which are lighter and easier to cool while standard rear-wheel steering adds agility and manoeuvrability to the package.
