Established in 2017, Bastar Food Firm aims to bridge research and development and ancestor knowledge existing in tribal culture. The firm works on value addition of forest minor produce such like mahua, tamarind, cashew, honey among other produce majorly collected in the southern part of Chhattisgarh. The platform also aims to help develop skills in tribal youth in the Naxal areas by simplifying food technology. Most of the produces collected from the jungles are free from pollutants and can benefit the people in metropolitan having issues such as excess obesity, hormonal imbalance, anemia, high cholesterol and cancer. Bastar Foods also aims to create a business model for tribal women by facilitating new product development, machine designs, packaging, labeling, licensing and marketing on various platforms.
