IndiBots uses robots that are embedded with sensors to clean the solar panels and without zero water usage. The robots, which have brushes inside, slide through the solar panels and clears them of any dust particles. The machine can detect dust and other particles on the panel through use of sensors. For about 5 MW plant, the cost will be around Rs 5 lakh per annum which is almost 10 times lower than traditional methods of water-based cleaning. The company has secured Rs 10 lakh grant from Government of India under the Nidhi Prayas Scheme and has used that amount to develop technology. The major parts of the robot are made in India itself and IndiBots uses contract manufacturers to make the robots.
