Organic India is a multi-national company founded in 1997 by spouses Bharat Mitra and Bhavani Lev in Lucknow that produces organic herbal and Ayurvedic health products. Organic India works with thousands of small family farmers in India to cultivate tens of thousands of acres of sustainable organic farmland. All of their farmers and tribal wildcrafters are educated in organic and biodynamic agricultural practices. They pay all the fees associated with acquiring the necessary organic certifications for them, and then they purchase the harvested crops and herbs at a premium market price. It owns 50,000 acres (200 km2) of arable land in Uttar Pradesh, including in Rajasthan and Gujarat, and the Vasundhara Acres Organic India LLP in Madhya Pradesh. The company is most known for their line of organically grown tulsi teas, which are sold in India, the US, Canada, and the UK. They sell their products within the four broad verticals of Tulsi Teas & Infusions, Health Formulations, Packaged Food, and Body Care.
