Founded in 2012, Takas is an e-commerce marketplace and provider of e-commerce solutions based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. They sell everything starting from electronics and computers to health and wellness products, products for children, toys, cakes, and flowers. Since inception Takas has taken great pride in being a Sri Lankan company that has served Sri Lankans both here and abroad, adding value and giving satisfaction. Takas was the first company to introduce cash on delivery (CoD), and enable the tokenisation of credit cards. Furthermore, the technology stack which Takas operates on has been built completely in-house, and to date has enabled e-commerce businesses in Sri Lanka as well as overseas markets. In December 2020, Ideal Group announced that it was acquiring Takas.
