Techno Defence

Techno Defence Private Limited is an Indian defence technology company focused on developing indigenous, high-technology solutions for the defence and aerospace sectors. Established in 2016 as a joint venture between Technocraft Industries India Limited and IIT Bombay alumni, the company aims to strengthen India's self-reliance by designing and manufacturing advanced defence systems and mission-critical technologies. Its expertise spans seeker technology, cryogenics, precision testing equipment, and specialized defence engineering. The company's key projects include miniature Joule-Thomson (JT) cryocoolers for high-performance cooled infrared detectors, 3-axis systems for measuring the centre of gravity and moment of inertia of payloads and vehicles, and specialized swivel tables for calibration of aircraft gyro sensors. Techno Defence has also developed a canister system for the Akash-NG missile program. Its miniature cryocooler was developed in collaboration with the Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), DRDO, under the Technology Development Fund (TDF). Techno Defence is focused on advancing smart ammunition seeker technology and cryogenic systems while developing cost-effective, indigenous solutions for complex defence applications. With dedicated design, R&D, laboratory, and engineering capabilities, the company undertakes technology development, system integration, testing, and specialized turnkey projects. Through collaboration with defence research organizations and continuous innovation, Techno Defence aims to contribute to India's strategic technology capabilities and reduce dependence on imported defence technologies.
