Unstructured Studio, is a not-for-profit organization. Their work is inspired by Mitchel Resnick's four guiding principles (4P's) of Creative Learning: Projects, Peers, Passion, and Play and based on research at MIT Media Lab's Lifelong Kindergarten. Their mission is to foster a “tinkering mindset” in children from under-resourced communities. They design and develop learning technologies, activities and resources to engage children in STEAM-rich tinkering experiences. To enable a vast majority of kids in underserved communities to participate seamlessly in the tinkering process, they are developing a hub of creative hands-on projects built with everyday materials, activity ideas, and an awesome community of kids and educators. Their work is based on MIT's extensive research on designing for tinkerability and documentation platforms supporting young makers.
