VKC was founded in 1984 by VKC Mammed Koya for manufacturing and marketing Hawai slippers. Over time, it went on to become South India's leading and prestigious footwear manufacturer. By 2003, the company started an EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate)-injected unit, a technology for soles that makes them soft, flexible and weather-proof. They have three brands within which they operate i.e. VKC Pride, VKC Junior, and VKC Lite. VKC Group today comprises of 20 manufacturing units spread across 6 states in India. Affordability has been brought into the product by assimilating cutting-edge technologies evolving on the shop floor as also in management processes. SAP enabled business processes; design studios equipped with latest software are some of the early adoptions at VKC which has ensured the high adoption of their products by customers.
