Who runs the world? Come find out at HerStory’s Women on a Mission Summit 2019
The HerStory team is very excited to give voice to the many wonderful women at this landmark summit being held on March 6.
In a country where women form a paltry 26 percent of the employed workforce, the road to empowerment is not easy. Stressing the need for, and importance of, bringing more women into workforce, HerStory celebrates women on a mission.
On Wednesday, March 6, HerStory’s first ever Women on a Mission Summit 2019, to be held at Lalit Ashok in Bengaluru, will have under one roof several extraordinary women who are inspiring and enabling others to join the workforce, and grow and thrive.
Network and learn
The summit will showcase wisdom from outstanding achievers – including entrepreneurs, government servants, top corporate leaders, and activists.
An exciting event to look forward to will be YourStory Founder Shradha Sharma’s interaction with author and philanthropist Sudha Murthy on what it takes to be an iconic leader in a world of constantly changing success benchmarks.
Other luminaries include Nivruti Rai, Country Head - Intel India & VP Data Center Group, Intel Corporation, D. Roopa Moudgil, Inspector General of Police, Bengaluru, and Gauri Sawant, transgender activist and social worker.
Reiterating the significance of diversity and inclusion at the workplace, a panel will discuss how to drive the diversity charter in your organisation. Participants in the panel are Vishpala Reddy, Regional HR Director, Uber, Tina Vinod, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, ThoughtWorks India, Krishnamurthy Shankar, Group Head of HR Development, Infosys, Tanushree Mishra, People Director - South Asia, AB InBev, and Esha Ganguly Ahuja, Chief Human Resource Officer, Servify.
In a panel moderated by Anjana Sasidharan, Principal, Sequoia India, Neha Singh, Co-founder of Tracxn, and Yamini Bhat, Co-founder of Vymo, will focus on building high-growth, sustainable businesses that matter.
Another panel, focused on how to attract more women into the workforce, will see in discussion panellists Vinutha Rallapalli, Investments & Community Development, Innovation Valley, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Kuppulakshmi Krishnamoorthy, Head Evangelist, Zoho for Startups, and Humera Iffath, Human Resources Director- India, Truecaller.
Another attraction at the event will be the revelation of Naturals salon’s story – how husband-wife duo CK Kumaravel and Veena Kumaravel built a Rs 400 crore company, enabling 400 women entrepreneurs and more than 5,000 employees.
Equally stimulating are the stories of Revathi Roy and Shipra Butani, who founded Quantum Career Academy and HeyDeeDee Logistics, respectively. The two entrepreneurs will share their journey of defying naysayers and bringing women into jobs that were otherwise dominated by men.
Listen to stories and be inspired
With around 500 influencers, HerStory will also honour and celebrate women for the wonderful work they have done. Don’t miss out on the Women on A Mission Awards slated for the evening. Of the 800 dazzling applications, we had a tough time narrowing down the winners!
Making diversity and inclusion matter
The event will also witness the launch of a special HerStory report that outlines the findings of a survey on women in the workforce. The report explores the learnings on building a more diverse and inclusive workforce, and sketches the way forward for enabling women in the workforce to not just succeed, but thrive.
Keeping the josh high, don’t forget to join us as we write a new chapter where we unapologetically demand a seat at the table, and come together to ensure more women continue to thrive at the workplace.
