[HerStoryRecommends] Get ready for the longest episode of Game of Thrones, and revel in the Marvel universe - our top picks of the week
In HerStoryRecommends this week, enjoy a blast from the past and then take in the new as Game of Thrones, and Avengers: Endgame hit the screens.
Battle for the Game of Thrones
On Monday, Game of Thrones fanatics from all over the world will watch the third episode of the final season, not wondering who will die, but who will remain alive for the show to go on till the end. Slated to be a two-hour episode, the longest-ever in the series, at 1 hour and 20 minutes long, the The Great Battle of Winterfell , as it's supposedly called, will not be one short of thrills, as each episode has shown over the last seven seasons. Without giving out any spoilers, with the rest of the world, we hope too, that nothing untoward will happen, but then we guess, that's really asking for too much. If the excitement is really too much for you, then go and watch Episodes 1 and 2 again, and still better, use your weekend wisely to get a recap of all the earlier seasons - pining for what has been lost and hoping that "all men will not die". Good luck!
(Game of Thrones - Season 8, Episode 3 will stream on Hotstar, Monday, 6.30 am)
It's all about romance
If your are in the mood for a romcom, then The Perfect Date on Netflix is your "mushy" answer. It's also a coming-of-age story starring newcomer Noah Centineo as Brooks Rattigan, a high school student who aspires to get into Yale and live a cushy life. But he has no money to get into an Ivy League school.
Brooks volunteers to take his friend Murph's cousin, Celia, to the school dance. She does not want to go but Brooks convinces her. He meets other girls in the process and at the end of the day, Celia tells him she had a good time. So a thought strikes Brooks. He can make money to go to college by being a "perfect date" with the help of an app, The Stand In, where girls can hire him to be their date. What happens to Brooks' personality in the process? Does his business succeed? The Perfect Date is breezy, romantic, and fun.
