Life in Balance- An Elusive Dream??

Over the years, a lot has been spoken and written about creating a balance in our lives around work, personal lives, and leisure to name just a few aspects. Why do some people seem to manage this balance while others do not? Do they do something different? How do they manage everything? I would like to explore this at a deeper level than it has been explored.

I believe that living your dream is to know what your dream is. It is about the mental attitude and thoughts that have the power to invoke the mystical power of the universe to make happiness and realization of dreams a reality. This inner power is not an external power but is completely internal and forms the center of the human mind. The law of attraction is the most powerful law in the entire universe. We attract everything through our mental attitude and thought energies which are a universal power source.

Spiritually based positive thinking is a result of conscious realization that absolute positivity originates in self-reality. It broadly means that life and its environment, though two seemingly distinct phenomena are inseparable. Believe that the environment is like a shadow and life the body. The current life of any individual is a reflection of thoughts in the past. The Buddha said “all that we are is the result of what we have thought. What we think we become”.

People who take positive action are not governed and grounded by self-doubt. Some people prosper while others let self-doubt ground them into inaction. More often than not, it leads to frustration and anger with more and more negative thought energies coming into play.

Irrespective of the methodology used, we do need to connect with the real self.

Success or victory that comes as a result of introspection reinforces confidence, calm, and even stronger faith in the self. People possess a natural success factor which they would be achieving were it not for certain weaknesses that hold them back. They start believing in their weakness rather than their real Self. Much energy is spent in living and acting out their weakness or self-doubt. The resulting negative energies give rise to cynicism and hopelessness along with the loss of drive.

Introspection will help create a self- awareness which is the key to planning and taking informed action towards whatever we aspire for. The realization that one has the sole power to realize one’s dreams gives an added encouragement. Confidence and calm are reinforced as a result of the success achieved. It is this awareness and calm inner power that create a life state and mindset to manage whatever challenges you face.

In this higher life state where success consciousness is possible, you will be able to identify your area of control and influence. With this kind of awareness, clarity and confidence you will be able to identify priorities and manage time around all the areas. Work life balance is about a certain level of fluidity and not about rigid allocation of equal time to activities or areas. That would be very unrealistic. In today’s context of most people working long hours, the real question to ask yourself is if you find the time to enjoy your achievements. Is there a sense of well- being or are you forever stressed about work and feel guilty about taking time off for other activities?

You will find the balance and value you aspire for if you create meaning in each moment at work, with family & friends and with yourself!! So, make it happen for yourself!!
