Pankaj has been focused on investing in small and medium-sized enterprises with a focus on agriculture, financial services, ancillaries, and infra services. He writes primarily on technology, and how it acts as a disrupter in any of these sectors. In the agritech space, he primarily focuses on trends, farm productivity, farmer income and the challenges they face like marginal land holdings, which in turn make mechanisation difficult and implementation of tech unviable. He believes that the timely access of genuine high quality inputs and advice with intermediated supply chains is necessary. He feels that while data science plays a significant role in healthcare and banking sectors, its principles can also be applied to the Indian agriculture sector across the value chain. “The time is ripe for the Indian agricultural sector to adopt best practices by using data science, deploy smart farming techniques and build integrated supply chains to boost productivity.”
