BharatPe

BharatPe is an Indian fintech company that provides digital payment and financial services to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in India. It was founded in 2018 by Ashneer Grover and Shashvat Nakrani, with a primary focus on enabling merchants to accept digital payments through various means, including the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), QR codes, and credit/debit card transactions.

In early 2019, BharatPe raised money from investors like Insight Partners, Sequoia Capital, and Beenext. It grew even further by adding new features to it, after receiving more funding from Steadview Capital and others, in February 2020.

It soon started offering short-term loans to small businesses and also made machines for accepting card payments. By the end of 2020, they had lots of merchants using their services and handling many digital payments. And by March 2021, it announced its plans to enter the business lending space by offering loans to merchants.
