Dunzo is a hyperlocal quick commerce company that focuses on providing fast deliveries to its customers, usually within a time period of 20 minutes. They deliver items ranging from groceries to medication to household items. They allow customers to access local businesses through their mobile application. Headquartered in Bangalore, they were founded in the year of 2014 by Kabeer Biswas, and co-founders Ankur Agarwal, Dalvir Suri and Mukund Jha.

A feature that popularised their services was the option to deliver packages within the same city, regardless of the nature and size of the deliverables. They currently provide their services in 7 Indian metropolitan cities, including Bangalore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Pune, as reported by LiveMint. In Gurgaon, they specifically operate a bike-taxi service.

Initially, the company worked on a minute scale as a miniature Whatsapp group. They raised their first round of funding in March of 2016, which included a sum of $650,000 from investors such as Blume Ventures and Aspada Ventures amongst others. In December of 2017, they received a sum of $12 million from Google.

In May 2020, they partnered with FMCG major PepsiCo, to deliver snacks under labels including Lays and Kurkure to their customers’. This took place during the lockdown and was part of PepsiCo’s ‘Direct to customer’ initiative. In the very same month, they partnered with Google Pay as well.
