Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s, Galentine’s, or simply dabbling in self-love, now is the time to pull out the grand gestures and have the heart-to-hearts.

Some may argue the expression of heartfelt feelings shouldn’t be restricted to a particular time of the year. Yet, there is merit in this showmanship as many industries function on its back.

In the run-up to Valentine’s Day, our inboxes and timelines are flooded with ideas on what to wear, where to eat, and most importantly, what to gift our significant others.

Wading through this flood is a tough task indeed, but we make it easier for you. Here are five gifting startups that promise to make your V-day experience hassle-free and memorable.
Pine & Lime

Pine & Lime

What started as a creative outlet for founders Aishwarya Choudhary and Ishaan Shrivastava, evolved into a unique bespoke gifting service. Delhi-based Pine & Lime makes memory maps — specialised tokens that bring your memories to life.

All one needs to do is enter a date and place special to them, along with a small note, and choose from a variety of map designs and markers to package it together beautifully.

This Valentine’s Day, Pine & Lime has launched audio maps, which can be used to dedicate songs attached to special memories. One can also put together playlists for their loved ones and continually add songs to prolong those special moments.

Another product, Rewind, lets one share photographs with personalised notes to complement the memories shared through the maps. Memory maps are priced from Rs 499 while audio maps cost Rs 599.

These offerings make for a good gifting option because of their pocket-friendliness coupled with the startup’s focus on speedy deliveries.

Winni

Winni

In a long-distance relationship and worried about not being able to make Valentine’s day special? Fret not. Winni’s two-hour delivery promise in any part of India and countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, etc., is the answer to your dilemma.

This Chandigarh-based startup, founded by Sujeet Kumar Mishra, Chander Pal, Sonali Gaur, and Abhishek Sharma, lets you choose from over 5,000 products on its website.

This Valentine’s Day, take your pick of cakes, flowers, chocolate combos, or personalised items, including adding your photographs to chocolate wrappers, mugs, cushions, keychains, T-shirts, photo frames, handbags, headphones, LED clocks, and other items of personal use.

However, Winni’s most exciting offering is its digitally delivered live music service. People can request their favourite songs to be sung by professional artists only for themselves and their loved ones. They can also book comedy performances by renowned artists for an unforgettable experience.

Winni’s digital audio gifts begin from Rs 99, and its personalised keychains cost Rs 199. Some of the startup’s gift combos can go up to Rs 8,999. Winni’s personalised touch and widespread delivery are its biggest appeal.

The Messy Corner

The Messy Corner

Some say personalisation is key to a memorable gift, certainly the principle on which Mumbai-based startup The Messy Corner functions. It was launched by siblings Aayush and Aanchal Poddar, who keenly felt the lack of Indian companies offering personalised gifts and accessories that were stylish, made of high-quality material and still affordably priced.

For Valentine’s Day, The Messy Corner is offering personalised gift hampers based on interests. Those who love travelling together will appreciate its couple passport covers, luggage tags, and heart-shaped keychains.

If travel isn’t on the cards anytime soon, the startup’s ‘All That He Needs’ and ‘All That She Needs’ couple hampers, consisting of initialled pouches, wallets, and keychains, are a good option.

Its popular gifting items include new personalised crossbody bags for men and women. All the gifts are accompanied by a special Valentine’s gift packaging with a greeting card.

Pricing starts from Rs 299 onwards, and its products promise to tick the boxes of being practical, functional, personalised, and statement-worthy. Same day delivery is available for Mumbai residents.

IGP

IGP

As all die-hard romantics believe, grand gestures garner better results. Catering to this specific need is IGP.com, previously known as the Indian Gifts Portal. Launched by Tarun Joshi, this Mumbai-based startup is a multi-category gifting company that offers curated collections of festival merchandise, gifts, fresh flowers, cakes, plants, gourmet foods, and personalised products for all occasions and festivals.

It delivers to over 150 countries and over 300 Indian cities and is the exclusive India partner of Interflora, known as the world’s largest floral gifting company.

For Valentine’s Day this year, in keeping with its promise of grand gestures, the company has launched several limited-edition offerings, including ‘Everlasting Roses in a Personalised Exploding Box’, which opens to reveal special memories and a gold-plated everlasting rose personalised with six images.

It also offers ‘Serenade Gift Hampers’ with a teddy bear, a box of chocolates, a gold everlasting rose, a kiss day jute cushion, a hug day mug, a wooden promise day table clock, and an MDF proposal photo frame, and the ‘Black and Gold Personalised Valentine Basket’ with chocolates, crunchy cookies, two metal votives with midnight rose candles, an everlasting golden rose, and a set of two golden mugs.

Other options include the ‘Forever Love Personalised LED Lights Decanter’, with a corked topper that conceals an LED string light, and its switch to be used as room decor or to store liquids or a simple basket of 50 red roses.

Prices of these special edition gifts range from Rs 745 for the LED Lights Decanter and go up to Rs 4775 for the Black and Gold Valentine Basket.

Le Jahaan

Le Jahaan

However beautiful a gift may be, the outer packaging further enhances its appeal. Aware of this, Le Jahaan, a luxury gift packaging and home and decor brand, promises to elevate your gifting game by ensuring the gift is memorable both inside and out.

The brainchild of Devina Dalmia, this Delhi-based startup customises stylish trays and boxes to be used as containers for gift items or to liven up rooms and intimate experiences.

For Valentine’s Day this year, Le Jahaan has launched a sophisticated yet cosy collection inspired by the colours of love. It comprises trays and multipurpose boxes with spaces to store keepsakes, jewellery, crystals, chocolates, wines, mementoes, or any other useful items.

The appeal of these pieces lies in the fact that they can be used later as home décor. This new collection’s neutral colour palettes playoff hints of red, pink, and black, keeping it classy yet cool.

The collection consists of wooden storage boxes and trays, ideal for the packing of gifts. Prices start from Rs 2,000.
