RAKEZ, Amazon UAE sign MoU to empower SMEs grow online
The partnership will provide SMEs with access to Amazon's capabilities, enabling them to scale up and increase online sales.
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and MoU to enable businesses registered within the hub to sell their products on Amazon.ae, supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to scale their online businesses and leverage Amazon's capabilities, tools, services, and programs.
UAE have signed anRamy Jallad, CEO of RAKEZ Group, and Jasmine Frick, Amazon's head of sales success, signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU), as per statement shared on Zawya.
Within this collaboration, RAKEZ business community members will be able to utilise various Amazon services such as streamlined seller registration and onboarding tools, in-person training sessions, workshops, and live webinars for seller education, as well as dedicated support teams to ensure a seamless transition into the digital realm.
According to Jallad, the MoU with Amazon aims to boost SMEs in the online space, with the ecommerce industry expected to reach $9.2 billion in 2026.
The partnership will provide SMEs with access to Amazon's capabilities, enabling them to scale up and increase online sales. This aligns with the UAE's mission to support the SME sector in Ras Al Khaimah and bolster the country's non-oil economic diversification, thereby boosting the UAE's online retail landscape.
"Amazon's customer-centric mission relies on SMEs, who enhance customer experience by offering a wider product selection and competitive prices. Selling on Amazon.ae allows sellers to expand their footprint and better serve the millions of customers in the UAE. Amazon aims to host products from 100,000 businesses, including local SMBs, by 2026, in line with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33," added Frick.
RAKEZ houses more than 18,000 businesses, many of which are small and medium-sized enterprises selling goods.
