Dua Lipa fans are in for a treat as Zomato plans to bring the international pop icon to headline an upcoming event hosted by the food delivery giant, sources familiar with the developments told YS Life.

The Grammy Award winner will be the biggest star to headline an event hosted by Zomato, which also organises Zomaland, a multi-city food and music carnival, typically held between December and March in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.

The food and music festival has previously featured performances by pop, Punjabi, and indie artists, including When Chai Met Toast, MC Stan, and Jay Sean.

The latest development comes as Zomato aims to strengthen its going-out business and is in talks with Paytm to acquire its movies and ticketing business.

"The above discussion is being undertaken with an intent to further strengthen our going-out business and is in line with our stated position of focusing only on our four key businesses currently," Zomato had said in a regulatory filing in June.

Known for her songs like "Levitating", "One Kiss", and "Houdini" Dua Lipa is an English and Albanian singer-songwriter, who has won multiple Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist in 2019 and Best Pop Vocal Album for 'Future Nostalgia' in 2021.

This would be Dua Lipa's second performance in India. She previously opened for American pop star Katy Perry’s first show in Mumbai in 2019.
