Finding the perfect fit is not easy no matter what one is looking for. Sometimes you might just enter one store and come away with the perfect pair of jeans and on some days you might search everywhere not find anything. However finding a job that fits you perfectly is now a whole lot easier than finding a pair of jeans thanks to Anjalee Ahuja and her entrepreneurial quest. She is the Young Entrepreneur behind Cosmos Corporate Services Pvt. Ltd the HR Company that fulfills the needs of companies and clients.
Yourstory gleaned the facts from Anjalee about her venture and she says “Cosmos Corporate Service Pvt. Ltd. is a HR Consulting company aiming to cater to the Human Resources needs of the Corporate World.
Our Recruitment Team Comprises of Dynamic and well qualified HR professionals with industry specific backgrounds for better understanding of clients requirements and play an integral role in tapping the best industry talent for our esteemed clients.”
“Each assignment offers new challenges to us and when given to the CCS team it is our goal to meet the deadline without compromising on Quality. Keeping abreast of the industry needs and challenges we have a well qualified team of consultants who speed up the Selection process.”
“With help of Strong Networking skills - for reference checks, Headhunting, Conducting Preliminary Interviews telephonically and meeting the Candidate to assess the closest fitment to the profile mentioned by the client thereby sourcing quality candidates for them. Facilitating and Fixing up of candidate interviews with the clients and further follow up with the clients for feedback. Once the candidate is shortlisted and offer is made we maintain a constant touch with the candidate till they join the organization.
The best people in the specific industry may not be readily available most of the time through advertisements, as they are not looking for a change. These talented people are to be identified, discussed and motivated, as why they should switch over to your specific company at this specific time. We would be helpful in all these functions till the person is safe in the folds of our clients.”
“For our candidates we support, facilitate and guide them completely starting right from when they are looking for a change of job, to their round of interviews , compensation negotiation , final joining till the settling in period at the organization forming a long term association with each one of them.”
Their stated methods and claims are not just for drumming up business and Anjalee lays bare the figures stating “Well!!! we certainly believe a lot of people have benefited from our organization :) both our clients as well as our candidates , we have placed 100+ candidates across companies that we work for in the last one year and are still growing strong each day.”
Her professional experiences have shaped the way Anjalee sees the hiring process and she has used it to improve the way things are. She says “While I was at the other end of the hiring process that is using the services of various consultants, I came across situations where I did have a long list of empanelled consultants with me working for us but I could rely only on one or two at times when I really needed the right candidate within a short span of time, others often, either were not able to send the appropriate candidate or ended up sending a huge number of candidates all irrelevant which wasted time for all the three parties , the Company, the candidate and the consultant.”
“In our day to day working we follow things, like it is extremely important to understand the role completely before searching for the candidates for a particular profile. We maintain complete transparency with the candidate about role, compensation and other relevant details and not to mislead them to the interview.”
“So we basically believe sending less but relevant profiles to our clients which would result in early closures for us and them and long lasting partnership with our clients and candidates.”
Cosmos has an eye on the future and is wasting no time in getting there. Anjalee reports on this saying “Right now we are focusing on growing by verticals , i.e. is we are aggressively adding more companies to our existing verticals of IT, Media, Real Estate and Hospitality. We are also working on adding a few more verticals namely pharmaceuticals on which we are working right now. This is definitely on our agenda for this year.”
Her shift towards entrepreneurship was always present while she did the ground work by getting some hands-on experience. She reminisces “I started working immediately after I graduated; my first job was as a HR Trainee at Citibank N.A followed by stints at HR departments of ABN Amro Bank N.V, Gap Inc and Hindustan Times. Belonging to a business family the long term vision for me was always having my own venture in future. It was while working at Hindustan Times that I decided to start Cosmos Corporate Services Pvt. Ltd. I had gained about 5 years of work experience by then and I was extremely happy with my job at HT which assured me that I was not taking this decision because of wanting to run away from any kind of work situation but it was the right time for me to take this step as I was ready to take on a bigger step and responsibility and move from being a ‘9 to 5 employee to a 24/7 entrepreneur.’”
Her journey towards her goals met with resistance early on and her entrepreneurial acumen stood up to the test with flying colors. She says “Often it is the initial stage of getting business which is an issue for a start up, for me it was the other way around. I had recovered my initial costs within the first 6 months of business but as recession struck the job market was pretty much affected and for small scale start up’s like mine survival became an issue as we were just making a place for us in this competitive market.
We had to bring about certain changes in our working strategy and had to tap the companies who were still in need of manpower. And it was just a consistent effort that has kept us surviving and growing too.”
Her mindset initially came in the way but she eventually found herself shedding the trappings of her employee experience to start channeling her inner entrepreneur. She says “This transition happened after some amount of feedback I received and certain observations that I made individually.”
Anjalee is proud of the fact that Cosmos Corporate Services is now the preferred recruitment partner of many of their client companies. Her recent trials and tribulations at the hands of the recession have had their effect but her entrepreneurial goals have always taken precedence. She says “Absolutely at many times I have felt like going back to a cushy job as I stated earlier a job might be a 9-5 affair but entrepreneurship is a bigger challenge and it makes you work 24/7.The excitement of new challenges, the sense of satisfaction from the work I do along with a desire to grow keeps me going.”
“By 2010 I see the company getting more established and recognized as a recruiting company .By 2015 we will have ventured into new areas of training, outsourcing and event management.”
Anjalee is no stranger to hard work or the rewards that follow. She reveals her personal laurels saying “While working at Gap I received an Exceed award for the imaginativeness and creativity displayed in developing a recruitment booklet “why work anywhere else.” which further helped many potential candidates to join Gap India.
At Hindustan Times, I was awarded the HR Achiever within the first two months of joining the organization for a hiring project at the Mumbai office.”
Anjalee has won many a battle in her chosen vocation as an entrepreneur and it is with the wisdom of a veteran that she advises saying “For all the budding entrepreneurs I would just say - Not to give up that easily, there will be difficult and very difficult situations but believe me once you conquer them or survive them it will make you much stronger individually as well as in your professional venture and absolutely ready for the next level of difficulty.”
Yourstory wishes Anjalee Ahuja fame and fortune on her entrepreneurial journey and believes that she will continue to find the perfect fit for everyone.
