B-school launches entrepreneurial programme

The Bengal Institute of Business Studies on launched an entrepreneurial programme with a corpus of Rs 1 crore to encourage its graduate business students to set-up their own ventures. "Students will be groomed from the beginning of their course and at the end of two years, 10 business ideas will be selected for funding. Each shortlisted student will get Rs 10 lakh each," the institute's chairman Vidur Kapoor said. "We could pick up a stake in the venture after it takes off to recover our investment," he added. The institute will also involve organisations such as the National Entrepreneurship Network and The Indus Entrepreneurs to provide professional guidance to its students.
