Samadhan’09 in IIT Roorkee : Be the change you want to see in the world

Samadhan is built up on the idea that national growth can only be achieved if we take a balanced approach for economic and social upliftment. For the last three years, Samadhan has been encouraging the concept of social entrepreneurship successfully. Previous editions have been graced by the presence of people like-:

Every year a specific theme is chosen for Samadhan like “Rural Infrastructure” in 2008, “Global Warming” in 2007 and “Primary Education” in 2006 etc.
Considering that India has the second largest population in the world and over 40% of this can be classified as youth, the theme for Samadhan ‘09 is “Youth Empowerment”. The true might and potential of the Indian youth as of now remains untapped. Samadhan urges the young and the educated of this nation to come forward and propose innovative solutions to empower this huge chunk of our population, help them develop both mental and vocational skills even while earning profit for themselves.
Samadhan’09 will be held on the 8th of November in IIT Roorkee. Some of the eminent people who have agreed to join the panel of judges include Mr Binoy Job, senior editor, NDTV. He is also the chairperson of Leaders for Tomorrow, an NGO working with the youth of the country on issues pertaining to development and society. The event is being sponsored by ONGC and and will be covered on several reputed Media channels and newspapers like ET Now and Jam (youth) magazine among others.
The competition open to students and corporate sector is inviting entries before 15th October, 2009 according to a prescribed format available on EDC, IIT Roorkee's website - www.edciitr.com
