Entrepreneurship development programme conducted

The Pudukottai branch of Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (Tamil Nadu), a training institution approved by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu and Khadi and Village Industries Commission organized a 10-day entrepreneurship development programme in Pudukottai,Tamil Nadu under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme.
During the inaugural function S. Prithiviraj, president, Small Scale Industries (SSI) Association of Pudukottai called upon the trainees to utilise the training to update their knowledge. He requested them to utilise the services of SSI Association for redressal of their grievances. A total number of 21 trainees participated in the training programme during which they interacted with government officials, resource persons and successful entrepreneurs.
As part of the training programme, the trainees visited various types of industries in SIPCOT Complex and SIDCO Estate at Pudukottai. The trainees were provided financial assistance ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 25 lakh for starting coconut fibre and coir products, readymade garments, hotel, engineering works, bricks, cashew nut, processing and digital printing. The valedictory function was held during which Lead District Manager, Pudukottai, C. Sudhakar distributed certificates to all the trainees and requested them to start their ventures immediately.
