The Young Entrepreneur spoke of how they intend to help one regain the “Mojo” or life-force that has been sapped from them saying “LifeMojo is a platform to help you to manage your health & fitness online and on phone. The core problem that we solve is mismatch in your lifestyle and your fitness aspirations. All of us want to be fit, but do not know what to change in our lifestyles that would lead us there in a sustainable manner. LifeMojo is the go to place for this support.”
“For those, who want to manage their health themselves, LifeMojo provides free tools, tracker and quality content on the website. For those, who need expert help, LifeMojo provides paid consultation services from in-house nutrition and diet experts. These services can be availed through phone calls.”
“LifeMojo is growing to become the best and most comprehensive healthy lifestyle platform. We have people benefiting from LifeMojo spread all over the world but majority of our users are from India. There is a huge scope for LifeMojo as a platform for the preventive healthcare industry and there is nothing limiting us from exploring all the geographies of the world.
With-in 10 months of launching LifeMojo.com, we have close to 4500 registered users who use LifeMojo to track their diet, weight and lifestyle and manage their health.”
You might be thinking “What do they have to offer?”, after all; every second slim fast centre seems to make similar claims. Himanshu explains how they stand apart from the rest. He says “We provide quality consultation services from diet and nutrition experts. There are no other services available in the market with a quality and value for money like ours! Currently we are making money from these services. We are also selling fitness equipment and products offline. We will sell them online soon. We get some good revenue from advertisements on our website well.”
The concept has many takers and Himanshu is looking to hit the big time. His key ingredients are “Tie-ups and Exploring different geographies. We have tied-up with rediff.com and IndiaTV for taking LifeMojo to the masses. There is a lot of scope, when you can find synergy with these kind of players.”
His entrepreneurial spirit may not have been apparent in a 9 to 5 career but the urge to create was very strong in Himanshu. He says “I started my career in Trilogy and then joined ngpay in 2006 to learn how things work in a start-up. During all these years, I have always wanted to try out something of my own, that I thought would improve the way we do things. LifeMojo is an effort in the same spirit to help people improve the way they manage their health.”
Himanshu chose his field but soon discovered that they had a link missing. This did not dissuade him and he soon found a way out. He recalls “None of the co-founders are from a Healthcare background. So ensuring the quality of service and the content of LifeMojo was the biggest challenge. We were constantly in touch with experts in respective areas to take their help in this. And I believe that we have been successful so far in this.”
A strategic learning point came when it was time to launch their products. Himanshu talks about what he could have done better saying “Focus on Technical aspects of products rather than being the fastest to market is one thing that we regret. We were in that mode for first few months and once we realized this, we have never looked back.”
Their efforts were always about inspiring others to be fit and they soon found out that users were also keen to give back. He says “One of our users is a strength training expert and offered us to help us put together right fundamentals around strength training and further in finding the right experts for it. This for us was a great moment of proud because our users are contributing to make LifeMojo a better place than it is.”
“Apart from a few Media houses like Mint, ET, Forbes India and a few startup blogs, our users have recognized us to be of great value to them. We love that our users love our product and keep coming back to LifeMojo with valuable feedback/suggestions to further improve LifeMojo.”
Himanshu professes his adoration for his work while stating his reasons for staying glued to it. He says “I love my role at LifeMojo and the fact that so many users find our product valuable is awesome.” He reasons that his job role is worth pursuing saying “the fact that our users are actually benefiting from LifeMojo and spreading the word around vs. we pushing our product down their guts.”
Himanshu has his reasons for being an entrepreneur, and he wishes to share them with those aspiring to carve their space out in this world. He says “If you think people need the change that you wish to bring about in this world, then do it. Do not wait for “the perfect time”, because there is no such thing!”
“Perseverance is the key! Don’t lose your heart during low moments or failures in your entrepreneurial journey. Not everything will work. In fact most of the things will not work. Keep learning and trying. “There are 2 results of an experiment. Either you succeed or you learn”. So keep experimenting.”
