Entrepreneurship Development Centre inaugurated

UT administrator Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues inaugurated the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) at Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park (RGCTP) on Thursday.
Addressing a gathering on this occasion Gen (retd) Rodrigues said the project, jointly funded by Centre, Union ministry of commerce and UT administration, aimed to enhance the export of software from Chandigarh and to assist young professionals in setting up entrepreneurships in a state-of-the-art environment and in an intelligent building.
Gen (retd) Rodrigues honoured distinguished professionals who contributed in speedy completion of the project. He also gave away awards to Business Plan Competition winners.
Director, IT, Manjit Brar, said small and medium-sized IT companies would occupy built up space at EDC for software development, research & development and other high value services aimed towards purposes. The building designed by Shiv Sharma is futuristic, service oriented and has a global image, he added. President of TiE Puneet Vatyasan welcomed the chief guest. Senior officers present included home secretary Ram Niwas, chief engineer Surinder Pal and chief architect Sumit Singh.
