Back in July of last year, I wrote about how Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Srei Sahaj e-Village, a Srei Infrastructure subsidiary, were planning in providing distance learning programs for rural youth.
Now the partnership aims to reach 100 million youth to make them computer literate. They will focus on Assam, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. According to IndiaTalkies.com the courses offered will be:
diploma in advanced computers, certificate programme in HTML, certificate programme in JAVA SCRIPT, certificate programme in SQL and certificate programme in FLASH.
If successful, this program could have wide reaching impact throughout the country.
