Bold Ideas, Better Lives Challenge : Get up to $1 million in investment

Tuesday April 20, 2010 , 2 min Read

With the Bold Ideas, Better Lives Challenge Australian Centre for Social Innovation wants to give you the chance to turn your big idea into big impact. So the Australian Centre for Social Innovation is offering you the opportunity to make your idea a reality.

They’re offering a range of capacity building partnerships and they’ve got up to $1 million to invest in your ideas – and committed to supporting up to 10 projects that show the best and brightest ideas in social innovation across Australia.

Your idea could deal with anything from healthcare to climate change, unemployment to the internet as long as it addresses a social need faced by communities in Australia (we've put a few of our favourites here to give you some ideas).

Applications close on Friday April 23rd. Have a read of our Terms & Conditions and then apply here.

What are we looking for?

Our mission says it all: bold ideas, better lives. How can you show us your idea is bold and will make for better lives? It’s simple:

Innovation: The creativity and innovation of the idea (this may include older ideas that have not been tried out in practice or in a particular context)

Impact: The relevance of the idea to the Australian context and the degree of benefit and lasting impact on the social sector and the community

Implementation: The practicality of the idea and ability to muster the resources needed to implement/replicate the idea plus the risks of implementation.

Who can apply?

Anyone with a good implementable idea. The competition is open to any individual, group or organisation with a bright idea. However, all ideas must primarily benefit a community within Australia.
