India’s future in Internet and Mobile technologies today gets a chance to succeed with the benefit of iAccelerator, an initiative by Center for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship [CIIE] at IIM Ahmedabad. The iAccelerator program essentially offers potential entrepreneurs funding upto Rs.5 lakhs and apart from that offers the best minds in India to help the entrepreneurs plot their way forward to success.
Connecting teams with trainers, advisors, mentors and investors who can ensure that teams develop into world class technology companies is another core part of this process. In addition to supporting internal development these stakeholders can play key roles helping teams achieve their sales and fund raising goals.
Entrepreneurs will need to log on to http://www.iaccelerator.org fill in the registration form and the shortlisted entrepreneurs will be hosted for two weeks at the IIMA campus from June 1st 2010 through June 10th 2010 where they will be given the foundation to build their ideas into successes. Post this, Entrepreneurs will be given their funding and assistance for 4 months for their ventures, the iAccelerator program makes sure that the start ups are covered for their initial costs as well as armed to take their business to the next level. iAccelerator has partners across the country this year with Setu ventures in Delhi, IIIT-Hyderabad and PES engineering college in Bangalore.
Commenting on this program, Karam Lakshman, Program manager said, “iAccelerator is the complete knowledge repository for an entrepreneur. In an aspiring country like India where ideas are in abundance but what budding entrepreneurs need is direction on translating their idea into making economic sense as well as the support to take their idea to the market. We have worked with several start-up groups and the knowledge and insights shared between the groups are enticing”.
iAccelerator works with entrepreneurs in the internet & mobile space to establish well run, technically excellent, profitable technology companies in India. It uses CIIE’s experience in setting up companies, business network and provides funding to ensure that companies working with them are well formed and have access to the people and information they need to be successful. As part of the program, IIM graduates are invited to intern with the start-up companies.
