The Celebrity Management business made headway in India barely over a decade ago. The Celebrity Management Services (CMS) business was launched as an SBU of Percept D’Mark (PDM) 13 years ago, and over the years PDM-CMS handled a wide repertoire of Talent in the fields of motion pictures, television, fashion, music, sports and branded entertainment. These included the legendary World Cup ’83 Cricket Team, the Australian Team, 11 of the 12 cricketers in the Indian Cricket team, and leading Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, to name a few. Percept Talent Management was launched in 2007 and signified a paradigm shift in the business of Talent Management in the Indian sub-continent. The birth of PTM marked a confluence between creating, inculcating and promoting ‘Talent’ in every sense of the word. PTM offered a 360-degree model covering all aspects of exposure possible for a Talent.
Elaborated Mr. Shailendra Singh, “Over the years, I have witnessed and experienced the evolution and the importance of creating strong synergies between Talents and Brands to enhance brand communication, equity and recall. The 3 separate Business Verticals launched in PTM are focused on creating Intellectual Properties (IP’s) for Talents by which these Talents can extend their brand value and present a wider offering to their fans; Client Servicing which involves creating a customized Talent Pool based on their client base; and the traditional model of Acquisitioning Talents across all genres and providing them with all aspects of exposure possible for a Talent as well as managing all their administrative requirements, relationship management and endorsements.”
