Business plan workshop, conducted by Nurture Talent Academy (www.nurturetalent.com) last Saturday in Mumbai, received positive feedback from all startups in attendance. With large number of entrepreneurs coming from all walks of life and business, including Chartered Accountants, IIT graduates and budding entrepreneurs, the group learning was in full flow right from morning till late evening.
The day started with Amit Ratanpal, Director, Kaizen PE Fund, conducting an interactive session on how to make a business plan. He gave live examples based on his experience of starting and investing in early stage businesses. Amar Deb, ex-CEO, Channel V, and an angel investor and entrepreneur himself, also shared his experiences about what investors expect from a startup. Stressing the importance of team in a startup business, he said, "a business plan without team details is like a movie without Shahrukh - for a startup, the team is the star!"
The afternoon session was taken by Amit Grover, Founder, Nurture Talent Academy, who described the detailed financial projections, operations plan and manpower plan that give a business a comprehensive look. This was followed by personal guidance sessions by Manish Shukla, CEO, Retailscape Consulting and Harshad Lahoti, Partner, Ah Ventures, who individually addressed queries and concerns of each startup and gave valuable insights on starting and running a business.
Once the startups started working individually on their ppts and excels to devise their business strategies, they got an experience of new dimensions which can be added to further improve values of their businesses. The mix of presentations, expert mentoring and hands-on exercise gives a complete picture of what is expected from a business.
Overall, it was a good experience for both entrepreneurs and experts, and more such workshops are planned in the future by Nurture Talent Academy.
