"I never perfected an invention that I did not think about in terms of the service it might give others... I find out what the world needs, then I proceed to invent."
- Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison, like many great thinkers, understands the importance of an idea to cater the need.
Entrepreneurship Cell IMT-Ghaziabad gave its students a platform to showcase their ideas and cater the needs of the students. The platform was Concepto.exe.
After the resounding success of Concepto.exe'09 Entrepreneurship Cell IMT-Ghaziabad hosted Concepto.exe'10 from 20th July to 27th July and the event was a grand success beyond all expectations. The enthusiasm was very evident not only among the teams that were participating but also among the students who were conducting it. The event was concluded on 27th July with presentations from all the teams. Speaking on the occasion Acting Director Dr. M. Chaturvedi rightly said that such an event not only inculcates the spirit of Entrepreneurship among the students but teaches them to cope up with the factor of uncertainty in life. The event was judged by Dr. Mrinalini Shah and Mr. Prabal, Regional Manager NEN.
The Entrepreneurship Cell of IMT Ghaziabad initiated the event due to increasing interest and inclination of students towards entrepreneurship in 2009 and this time they took it one step further. A total of seven teams participated in the IMT Ghaziabad event and each team showcased their talent in the field of entrepreneurship. The teams were required to come up with a product or service which will have a commercial value and will generate profits in the long run. Each team was evaluated on various aspects like business concept, fund generation, marketing or promotion and execution, ROI and future strategy.
Memoria Inc. representing PGDM- Section E (2010-2012) class was declared winner by the panel of judges for their ability to understand the need and to execute it with a ROI of 265%. Memoria Inc. presented their business as a platform to capture memories by designing customized T-Shirts and a Washing machine to wash clothes with hygiene and at cheaper rates for the students
“We did an extensive research on what are the needs of the students and then came up with the ideas to cater them. Most of the students wanted to capture memories of their time spend at IMT and there was a need of getting their clothes washed timely and hygienically. We look forward in making it a permanent thing at IMT-Ghaziabad Campus” a spokesperson from the business school said. Other teams that participated in the event were I-Mart, Just in time deliveries, Fun and Masti unlimited, Mojo-Jojo, IMT Suvidha Kendra and Team Healthy Heads, who were the first runners up in the event.
