Xerox unveils four color technology platforms - Laser, LED, Solid Ink and Inkjet for SMB, Graphic Arts and Corporate Consumers

• Launches patented Solid Ink technology in India; forays in A0 Wide Format Inkjet printing space

New Delhi, August 17, 2010: Xerox India, a part of Xerox Corporation, world's leading enterprise for business process and Document Management became the first company to offer SMB, Enterprise, Government, and Graphic Arts customers a choice of four technology platforms in color- Laser, LED, Solid Ink and Inkjet to give customers a wide choice of printing solutions and improve efficiency, enhance productivity and reduce overall cost of ownership.

As part of the four technology platforms in color, Xerox launched four color printers and production equipment. These include - Xerox® WorkCentre® 7120 Multifunction System, Xerox® ColorQube™ 9201 / 9202 / 9203 Multifunction Systems, Xerox 7142 & Xerox 8264E^TM Color Wide Format Printers. The new color range is available across Xerox’s partner network and customers can contact Xerox India at ASK XEROX- 18001801225 or 39012000 (add prefix of local city code).

The launch includes Xerox’s patented Solid Ink technology platform - Xerox® ColorQube™ series - 9201 / 9202 / 9203 Multifunction System. Solid Ink is a proven color printing technology by Xerox that uses solid sticks (or blocks) of no-mess, non-toxic ink instead of toner or inkjet cartridges. Solid ink is easy to use, produces incredible color print quality, is cost-effective and environment friendly.

Xerox also announced its foray in the AO Wide Format Inkjet printer category unveiling the Xerox 7142 & 8264E ^TM Color Wide Format Printers. The printers are targeted at the Graphic Arts community and suited for CAD, GIS applications of architectural or engineering renderings, schematics, mechanical 2D& 3D, solids modeling scientific/medical, seismic and GIS/Mapping.

Details of the four newly launched products

The Xerox® WorkCentre® 7120 Multifunction System prints at 20 ppm B/W and color of standard A4 pages and is ideal for SMB and corporate segment with proportionate print volume need of B/W and color. With first page print out in 13 seconds in color, this device is equipped with multiple copying, scanning and faxing features. With features like Electronic pre-collation, Automatic tray selection, Build Job, Negative/Mirror image, Automatic booklet creation, Book copying, Annotation, Auto colour selection and scanning features viz-Scan to email and scan to folder the Xerox® WorkCentre® 7120 Multifunction System is a true workhorse for SMB’s and Corporate and easily integrates into the network.

Based on the Xerox patented Solid Ink technology the ColorQube offers flexible print speeds ranging from 30 ppm-85 ppm color. Solid ink is simple to use, produces stunning colour print quality is good for the environment and enables low cost colour for small businesses and corporate. Targeted at Architects (GIS / CAD), Corporate, Advertising Agencies, DTP setups the Xerox 7142 Wide Format Printer based on the INK platform provides A0 print and adds color to the industrial designs. The Xerox 7142 Wide Format Printer is built to provide low total cost of operation, impressive speed and consistent high quality of printing.

The Xerox 8264E^TM Colour Wide Format Printer is targeted at the Graphics Art community. With its ability to print up to 1615 mm, a variety of media, optional motorised winder/unwinder, and 16 m²/hour print speed capability, one can produce more posters, signage, banners, POS displays, graphics, and other wide format applications in a shift than it was ever thought possible before. A combination of Piezo-electric, Drop-on-Demand inkjet heads, Dynamic Variable Dot Imaging and Intelligent Interweaving Print Technology one can achieve increased performance- bold, sharp colour images with smooth gradations and fine details in highlight areas while saving on ink usage versus fixed-dot inkjet technology along with faster print speeds.
