Egypt is a land renowned for its majestic pyramids, Pharaohs and other monuments of glory past. Information Technology is not a sector one would readily associate with Egypt but all that perception is steadily changing thanks to Egitmagazine.com. Egypt has an up and coming community of young talented IT students and professionals who are looking at taking on the IT world. Reporting and keeping the world informed on these individuals and the IT scene in Egypt is the mission that Ahmed Mohamed Abuiliazeed the entrepreneur behind Egitmagazine.com has undertaken.Ahmed wrote down his story of entrepreneurship for our readers at Yourstory to tell us more on how Egitmagazine.com is reporting from the frontlines of Egyptian IT.
The Egitmagazine.com story:
Being in the Alexandria University Faculty of Engineering helped me build a large network of brilliant Egyptian students ,engineers, academic ,industry players and also it sharpened my technical skills and my know-how.
My time as a volunteer at IEEE Alexandria student branch helped me to realise my vision and my dream which is "to teach everybody everything". My work with EBF "Entrepreneurs Business Forum " gave me the necessary business and analysis skills. As an everyday normal Egyptian it helped me to know what make my people happy and optimistic and what make them sad and frustrated
Putting all that together you get a necessity, resources and know how, that’s when the egitMagazine idea hit me.Two months ago I started writing egitMagazine's vision and mission:
- egit is a monthly released magazine that keeps you up-to-date with the latest news about the IT sector in Egypt.
- egit does the marketing for Egyptian companies outside and inside Egypt.
- egit searches for young talents and give them the chance to demonstrates their ideas.
- egit connect the job seekers to the IT companies inside and outside Egypt.
My second step was creating a large database of my news resources
Finally finding the right time to launch was a big question at that time.
Just participating in the WED was enough for me. After WED egitMagazine was launched we got more than 500 views in the first couple days, with great feedback from Egyptians working in the technical field all over the world.
As a business I believe that egitMagazine is one of a kind and Decision makers at the industry will find the right tool to market their businesses since most of its readers are the venture capitalists ,academic ,engineers ,and post graduate students in and from Egypt.
Yourstory wishes Ahmed Mohamed Abuiliazeed and Egitmagazine.com good fortune and hopes that God willing they will grow from strength to strength…
