EdServ bags 5 Year Gujarat Government Training Deal

To develop content and train youth to make them productively employable
Chennai based Education and Placement Company EdServ has announced that the company has bagged a five year Government Training deal in Gujarat.
As per the MOU signed with Gujarat State Government’s CED (Center for Entrepreneurship Development) – GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation), EdServ has been empowered to set up and run three skill extension centers in Kheralu in Mehsana district, Gondal & Aji in Rajkot district in Gujarat.
EdServ will provide need based, industry responsive managerially and technically competent manpower by setting up and training youth at Skill Up-gradation Centers (SUCs) at GIDC Estates/Industrial cluster/SEZs, Skill development centers for short-term bridge courses under PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode and specialized skill development centers for niche trades. EdServ will also provide Sector Specific skill development training in industries such as Textiles & Apparels, Gems & Jewellery.
While the Government will invest in these Centers on infrastructure, EdServ will develop the content, recruit and provide training as well as placement assistance. The training program is expected to kick off in January 2011.
Commenting on this new development, S. Giridharan, Chairman and CEO, EdServ said, “Coming on the back of the Vocational Training Provider (VTP) status that we were awarded by the Ministry Labour & Employment, this deal with the Gujarat Government reiterates our growing presence in the Government Training Space. Going forward, the Government Educational relationships in their Vocational Training initiatives will be one of the key business drivers for EdServ.”
